Final Thoughts:

Jacilyn: I haven’t read many graphic novels, but aesthetically this was definitely my favorite one. It took a little more time to take in everything I was seeing, but it was worth it to see such beautiful, richly imagined character and world design. The story has me hooked and I have enough questions that I’ll definitely keep reading the series. I hope to see Maika and the monster’s relationship grow and learn why Tuya is betraying Maika. Overall, this was the perfect book to start the spooky season!

Michaela: This graphic novel was wonderfully illustrated and the story was incredibly interesting. I felt consumed with the story and I just had to keep reading it. Even within the first few pages you can already see there is such a deep history and lore with the world this story takes place in. The society and the magic are fascinating. This is not a book for the squeamish nor is it lighthearted so keep that in mind if you want to read it. I really enjoyed the story from this first volume, and I will definitely keep reading the series.
