Thoughts:
Jacilyn: I’m so glad we read this book. This is the first book I’ve ever read with LGBTQ protagonists, and experiencing this sort of representation felt incredible. I thought Emma and Jo were relatable, and jumping back and forth between their perspectives made their character development feel natural. The story made my heart full, and I had a hard time putting it down at the end of each section. In fact, one time, I accidentally read a whole three chapters ahead and kept almost bringing things into the discussion from the next section. Thank you to Meryl Wilsner for writing this incredible book that made me laugh, cry, and feel at home.
Michaela: This book went above my expectations as a non-romance reader. I fell in love with the characters in this book and all I wanted was for them to be happy together. The story felt very natural and believable, as did the characters. Reading from the perspectives of both characters gave us the chance to see who these people were inside and why they were choosing their actions, whether I agreed with them or not. The relationship, the tension, the drama, the worries, the love, in this book all felt very real and it sucked me in. I have never read a book where the entire book itself made me feel cozy while also being full of meaningful content. I loved this book.
