Final Thoughts

Jacilyn: The Ex Hex didn’t quite scratch the itch I wanted it to. The best thing about it was definitely the setting, in my opinion - I loved the autumnal, spooky vibes we got. It was a good fall pick, but wasn’t as substantial as I think it could have been. But, I do think readers will feel the chemistry between Viv and Rhys, which is important and an enjoyable aspect of the story. Overall, I think it just suffices to say that this probably won’t be a re-read for me.

Michaela: The Ex Hex definitely hits right in the autumn vibes with a Practical Magic meets Gilmore Girls meets Halloweentown feel to the town and the story. The romance was lovely and fun to read. The side characters were enjoyable and comedic. Overall the story and the chemistry made me want to keep reading however it did not quite reach the level I felt it could have. I felt a little let down at some points. I would still say I enjoyed the read but it probably won’t be a reread unless I really need an autumn vibe pick-me-up.
