Final Thoughts:
Michaela: I loved this book. I cannot describe how much I love this book. It is magic, it is love, it is found-family, it is a journey. It's a love story in more ways than one. I felt like I could not put it down. The whole time I was reading this book I felt like I was surrounded by a lovely colorful, cozy adventure. I have never felt like a book was hugging me until this one. I feel so comfortable with the characters and in their home. The story is so well written and the world it's placed in is very familiar. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone. I will be visiting this book and this house in the cerulean sea again and again. "Don't you wish you were here?" - TJ Klune The House in the Cerulean Sea. I could wish for nothing else.
Jacilyn: As my colleagues can attest…. I recommend this book to everyone. I didn’t know how badly I needed to read this book, until I read it. With Covid infections rising again, the tragedy in the Middle East, rampant hate and misinformation and a general culture of mistrust, I desperately needed the spark of hope that this book gave me. Prior to reading, many people described this book to me as a “hug,” and I think that’s a perfect descriptor. It shattered my heart, glued it back together, and made it grow ten times the size. Like Michaela said, the residents of Marsyas Island are a found family, and they hold an incredibly special place in my heart. I think this is my favorite book of all we’ve read thus far.
