We Took a Character Quiz for House in the Cerulean Sea!

This week we thought we would do a short fun quiz on ‘Which The House in the Cerulean Sea Child Are You?”. As this was our favorite read from last year we are obsessed! Such a beautiful story with amazing characters.

These types of quizzes can sometimes be silly and just for fun. But we also think that taking these quizzes can provide a nice insight into the book. Sometimes the results of these quizzes, no matter how detailed or not it is, can bring you a whole new way of seeing the characters you read about. We obviously love to discuss books and taking these quizzes, listening to podcasts, reading book blogs, etc can help us delve deeper into the story and understand it even better.

Jacilyn: I got Sal! I'm not sure that it fits my personality, but Sal is my favorite of the children on Marsyas Island. If I had to choose which of the children I'm more similar to, I think I'd choose Phee, even though it's not an exact fit. It's the love for and connection with the land and comfort amongst the trees. The way Phee talks about the island reminds me of how I feel about Oregon. *Photo from torforgeblog.com*

Michaela: I also got Sal! I think he probably fits my personality best but at first I thought it was wrong. However, when I really think about it I found a lot of things in common. I have a lot of issues with trusting and relying on other people. Lots of anxiety issues as well. I can be courageous but I also usually prefer to fade into the background in social situations and if anyone fights around me or yells at me I instantly feel incredibly small. I also have a love of reading and writing and being places that feel safe for me, many times that’s even small spaces like Sal with his closet. Then of course confidence related to creative outlets and just around people in general. Wow, I don’t think I ever thought so deeply about what I had in common with him. I always thought I had more in common with Phee or the adults but clearly I was wrong. Sal and my childhoods were very different but they resulted in some very similar personality traits. I will have to read into him and the other characters even deeper the next time I read this book. I’m excited to see what about the book will change for me.

If you would also like to take the quiz we did then here is the link! Let us know your results and what you're reaction to it was!
